What would you do if changing the world – your world - were
as simple as changing a light bulb?
TCP, Inc., the leading manufacturer of energy-efficient lighting, has launched a nationwide program to promote environmental awareness in children. Your students will laugh at the antics of TC, Watts-on, and Inky on their educational journey, learning what could potentially happen to our pleasant green earth. They are sure to get the message: It is important to conserve energy, even if it is just one light bulb at a time. Bright Town – The Search for Inky will entertain while teaching the need for environmental responsibility.
To go along with this unique, high-energy program, TCP has put together an amazing fundraiser designed to increase environmental awareness and reduce greenhouse gas emissions – believed to be a leading cause of global warming. Your students can sell high-quality, Energy Star® approved compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) to family, friends, neighbors, etc. CFLs use less energy than a standard incandescent bulb, so there is less need to generate electricity, reducing the amount of carbon dioxide and other pollutants released into the atmosphere.
Did you know if every American home replaced just one light bulb with an Energy Star® qualified CFL bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, save more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars. Your students’ sales of CFLs allows an opportunity to educate people, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, generate income for their school, and save participants money. That’s a lot of good from a few little light bulbs.
